What the work can include
Interior rooms & apartments
Walls, ceilings, doors and trim can be scoped together or separately. Specify whether rooms are furnished, how high the ceilings are and whether you want a color change or a refresh.
Patching & surface preparation
Holes, cracks, rough patches and damaged finishes need different preparation. Matching an existing wall texture and sheen can affect whether a small patch blends or a larger area needs repainting.
Exterior painting & finishes
The base material, exposure and existing coating determine preparation. Share peeling, staining or deteriorated trim so repair work can be considered before a finish is applied.
Before the work begins
Choose colors and sheen in the actual light of the room, and identify which surfaces belong in the scope. Let us know about furniture, curtains, shelving and other items that need protection or removal. Stains and recurring cracks should be discussed rather than simply covered. Older properties and unusual coatings can require additional assessment and appropriate handling before surfaces are disturbed.
What affects the estimate?
Surface condition, room size, ceiling height, number of colors, trim detail, furniture and the amount of preparation influence cost. Comparing painting estimates is easier when they cover the same surfaces and repair level. Specify whether you expect patching, sanding, primer, finish coats and cleanup, and discuss who will supply the selected products.
What to send with your request
- Photos of walls, ceilings, trim and any damaged areas
- Room dimensions, ceiling heights and occupancy
- Preferred colors, sheen and products if selected
- Whether the request includes wall repair or only repainting
Questions about painting & finishing
Do you repair walls before painting?
Wall preparation can be included. Send photos of cracks, holes and damaged surfaces so repairs are discussed as part of the estimate.
Can you match an existing paint color?
A product label or color code helps. Age, light and sheen can affect the result, and repainting the full surface may be preferable to a visible touch-up.
Can an occupied apartment be painted?
Tell us about furniture and the rooms that need to remain usable. Protection, access and sequencing are discussed before scheduling.
Planning your next step
Start with a clear description of the work, rather than trying to diagnose every hidden condition yourself. Share the property location and photos, then identify which items matter most. We can discuss whether a site review or more information is needed before an estimate is prepared.
